0. Redefining Children’s Ministry in the 21st Century (L1-2-3)

Length: 0 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

This book, Redefining Children’s Ministry in the 21st Century, is the catalyst that became the foundation for Kids in Ministry International. Written by Becky Fischer in 2001, it has almost become a classic among those who have the vision for bringing children into the supernatural presence of God. Caution! This book is not for the week at heart! Expect your sacred cows to be kicked over once and for all!

1. Evaluating the Church and Her Children (L1-2-3)

Length: 37 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

In business one must evaluate on a continuing basis the effectiveness of what they are doing if they are going to have a viable presence in the market place, or they will go broke. They must evaluate everything from finances to customer service. If customers don’t like products or services, they will go elsewhere.

But in the church there is seldom any real evaluation going on especially in children’s and youth ministries. Our attitude too often is as long as the kids are out of our hair, we’re happy. Seldom do church leaders ever sit down and actually evaluate the spiritual effectiveness of their children’s ministries.

2. Kids as a Mission Field (L1-2-3)

Length: 38 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Children up to the age of 19 make up nearly one third of the world’s population, and yet the Church prefers to focus on adults for discipling, equipping, teaching, not realizing that childhood is the time God designed people to receive the Gospel. While only 6% of people accept Christ as adults, and only 4% as teenagers, as many as 32% of children receive Jesus when given the opportunity. Yet their salvation is many times belittled at worst and undervalued at best. In this teaching we share challenging statistics of why we need to concentrate on evangelizing and discipling children more aggressively as church leaders. After all, the Muslims are having great success discipling their kids.

3. The New Wine Skin of Children’s Ministry (L1-2-3)

Length: 50 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

The Church as a whole globally has been operating under a 200 year old wine skin in ministry to children. It’s time we press in to hear what the Spirit of God is saying about a new generation. There are three critical core values every church needs to adopt to make the needed shift of capture the heart of a new generation for Christ. Learn these Core Values well, because they are the foundation for everything we teach in KIMI.

4. How to Bring Children into the Presence of God (L1-2-3)

Length: 58 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

This session speaks to the very heart of the core values of Kids in Ministry International and the great need and importance of creating ongoing experiences in our children’s services for kids to experience and encounter the presence of God. Nothing else matters until the child experiences for himself–God’s love, His presence, the power of prayer, hearing Him speak to their hearts in words and visions, and feel His anointing as they pray for healing and so much more.

5. Children & the Holy Spirit (L1-2-3)

Length: 60 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Even in our Charismatic and Pentecostal churches, it is rare to see more than about 25% of our children under the age of twelve filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. This is primarily because adults frequently doubt a child’s ability to understand this gift or use it properly. This session completely debunks those erroneous opinions and demonstrates how powerfully children can be used by God when filled with the Holy Spirit while giving advice on how to lead children into this experience easily and effectively.

6. The Tabernacle Pattern of Children’s Ministry (L1-2-3)

Length: 43 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Our primary goal in every children’s service is to take boys and girls into the presence of God. We do this by using the pattern of the Old Testament Tabernacle of the Outer Court, Inner Court, and Holy of Holies. We take the children from the Outer Court, where they are physically active through games and music, to the Inner Court, where their minds are engaged through the teaching of the Word, then into the Holy of Holies, where the Holy Spirit can minister to their hearts and spirits. This unique pattern makes a powerful combination of activities that ministers to each child’s spirit, soul, and body.

7. Understanding Children & Worship (L1-2-3)

Length: 51 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Hard

Intense, heartfelt worship with kids is a critical element of taking kids as deep into the presence of God as we know they can go. But there are built in problems in children’s ministries in practical areas in creating those worship experiences. It is very rare for children’s ministries to have the luxury of live worship bands due to lack of musicians, equipment, finances to buy the sound systems, or even just the space to put it all. Therefore we have had to become experts at having powerful times of worship with just CDs.

8. How to Prepare Your Lesson (L1-2-3)

Length: 58 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Most churches have historically only held Sunday Schools for their children. They have focused on telling Bible stories rather than teaching the meat of God’s word and creating room for the move of the Holy Spirit. Our KIMI curriculums are primarily written to be used in a children’s church setting rather than the Sunday School classroom, primarily because we feel the children’s church environment is much more conducive to a move of the Holy Spirit. We deliberately design each of our lessons to take the children into “the Holy of Holies” and encounter God’s presence.

9. Creative Teaching Ideas (L1-2-3)

Length: 60 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

One of the greatest challenges we face as children’s ministers is taking deep and often complicated doctrinal concepts and converting them into a form that even a young child can comprehend and receive. That is the role of visual illustration, otherwise known as object lessons. Even Jesus used object lessons in his sermons to the multitudes. Creating and using visuals can be highly anointed, and have nothing to do with entertainment or using childish gimmicks.

10. Creative Use of Drama (L1-2-3)

Length: 41 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Packaging the Word of God in creative and interesting ways is key to helping children embrace, enjoy, and love your Bible lessons. As a teaching tool, using creative drama skits is one of the best ways to help kids remember important principles from the Bible. Drama skits should be in every teacher’s tool belt. It livens up the classroom. It can change the atmosphere from something serious to lighthearted humor.

11. Reaching the Heart of a Child through Games (L1-2-3)

Length: 37 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Children just love to have fun because that’s the way God made them. The first time anyone suggested to Becky that she play games in her children’s ministry, she was highly offended. She took her Bible teaching with children very seriously. But when she learned that engaging in a few minutes of play at the beginning of a service opened up the heart of a child to be more receptive to the teaching of the Word, she began too look at it differently.

12. Discipline Can Be Fun (L1-2-3)

Length: 60 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Hard

With over nineteen years of experience in children’s ministry, day care work, and raising five children of her own, Laura shares a plethora of creative, effective ideas for discipline that keep the atmosphere fun and in control at the same time. Discipline should not the dreaded punishment for bad behavior. Instead, you can learn how to create an atmosphere where discipline is warded off and seldom needed. And it can add lots of fun to your atmosphere. You’ll want to take lots of notes

13. Kids & the Bible (L1-2-3)

Length: 51 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

More than ever before it is crucial that we put a new emphasis on learning the Word of God. The Psalmist said, “I will hide his Word in my heart that I might not sin against God.” This is a season in the earth where God’s word is being denigrated, belittled, and nearly forgotten. We […]

14. Babies, Preschoolers & God (L1-2-3)

Length: 48 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

This is an intriguing look at the spiritual nurturing of children from birth and even while the child is still in the womb that clearly shows the difference in the lives of children who were bathed in prayer, worship music, and prophetic declarations and their siblings who did not receive the same nurture. To add credence to the statements, scientific examples are shared about what a fetus experiences in the womb. It is a grave mistake to think that the spiritual training of our children begins when they start school, or worse yet, when they become teens. If you are planning a family, or know someone who is, this is a critical and powerful message that needs to be heard if the goal is to truly raise a spiritual warrior for God.

15. Child Protection Policies (L1-2-3)

Length: 57 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Hard

Believe it or not, churches are one of the most frequent targets of child molesters because of the great need for volunteer help and the high trust factor among Christians. So it behooves every parent and children’s minister, and church leaders, to know the most basic prevention policies for the safety of our children. With some first hand experience on a difficult subject, Laura has done an excellent job of researching this vast topic and bringing it down to one hour session with loads of practical tips for churches, children’s ministers and parents to make their children’s ministry a safe place for children. You will want to take lots of notes.

16. Effective Leadership – Finding & Keeping Volunteers – (L1-2-3)

Length: 46 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Teacher: Becky Fischer, Founder/Director of Kids in Ministry International Taken from the book Redefining Children’s Ministry in the 21st Century Becky shares some challenging and soul-bearing looks into the two-hundred year old wine skin called Sunday School and where it has lost it’s cutting edge in capturing the hearts of a new generation. This is a call to the Church to rise up and take the challenge of bringing children what they are truly hungry for–personal encounters with the living God.

17. Kids as Carriers of Revival (L1-2-3)

Length: 47 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Too often when we talk about discipleship, we mean just one more Bible study to go to. That’s not how Jesus demonstrated discipleship. Kids these days are no longer content to sit and listen to us give them one more Bible lesson. They want to be intimately involved in the works of Jesus. The only thing holding them back is having someone show them what to do then releasing them in a safe environment to actually do what they’ve been taught. We have to completely rethink our style of ministry to children if we want to keep them actively involved in the faith.

18. How to Hear the Voice of God (L1-2-3)

Length: 52 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Knowing how to hear God’s voice is critical for every Christian, including our children. But surprisingly few Christians have ever been taught how. This session lays an excellent foundation for new Christians, and seasoned Christians giving many practical concepts that are easy to implement in our every day lives. The key lies in knowing how God speaks to His people.

19. The Supernatural Power of Tongues (L1-2-3)

Length: 0 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

The saints of old knew something about the purpose and power of praying in tongues, which has become somewhat of a lost art in today’s generations. There has been so much controversy surrounding it that even Pentecostal and Charismatic leaders tend to avoid talking about it. For the last 30 years or more, our churches […]

20. Awakening the Heart of Prayer in Children (L1-2-3)

Length: 60 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

When taught how to pray over important, relevant issues, children love to pray. And they are good at it. Prayer results in every core value we believe children need to become activated members in the body of Christ. In prayer they learn to hear God’s voice. They gain a biblical worldview, they experience God’s presence and as prayers are answered, they see the supernatural hand of God change people and circumstances. Equipping children to pray teaches them to take their places with adults in the Kingdom of God.

21. What the Prophets Are Saying About this Generation (L1-2-3)

Length: 51 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Well-respected Christian prophetic ministers gave a flood of prophetic words over the Millennial Generation through the 1980s-90s. But the last of the Millennials were born in approximately 2001. Since then by comparison, very few prophecies started coming out until the last couple of years. What are they saying now over this new generation? One of the constant themes is “There’s a worldwide children’s revival that is coming!”

22. Prophetic Children in History (L1-2-3)

Length: 58 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

In this eye-opening session on children who have walked in the supernatural power of God, you will see and hear about children as far back as Joan of Arc who had valid and extremely powerful supernatural experiences in prayer, speaking in tongues, prophetic utterance, healing the sick, preaching and more. History is full of examples of children who have challenged the common beliefs about what children were capable of spiritually. This in turn validates our determination to help children rise to what God has for them in the power of the Holy Spirit today. God always has and always will use children for His kingdom purposes

23. How the Kingdom of Darkness Operates in Children (L1-2-3)

Length: 80 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Hard

Have you noticed in the last ten years there has been an explosion of the occult and witchcraft in our entertainment media? I do not think this is by accident. This has been aimed our children in unprecedented ways, not to mention our teens.

The fact that this is all coming in the form of entertainment is disconcerting, but therein lies its secret power. We have been made to believe that, since we have ratings to warn the public of the content of movies, TV shows, and video games, in violence, sex, and swearing, that we can choose wisely and be okay. But there is no rating system for the paranormal, witchcraft or occult in our entertainment media.

24. Kids & the Glory of God (L1-2-3)

Length: 54 minutesAuthor: Becky Fischer

When God created the heavens and the earth, they were filled with His GLORY. When He made people, He crowned him with GLORY and honor. When mankind sinned, they fell short of the GLORY of God. When Moses met God on the mountain, his face shone from being in the GLORY. In the Tabernacle, the […]

25. Kids of Power (L1-2-3)

Length: 68 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Hard

This generation is more sensitive to the supernatural than any generation in history. They are seeing visions, having dreams, seeing angels, and unfortunately demons as well. Recent surveys take showed that 20 years ago only about 12% of the overall population had ever had a “paranormal” or supernatural experience whereas today it has jumped to 65%. With a million new immigrants from all over the world coming into the USA every year not just the immigrants are coming by they are bringing their religions and gods with them.

26. The Spiritual World of Autistic Children (L1-2-3)

Length: 80 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Hard

Most recent studies show that one in every 88 children in the USA are diagnosed with autism. While on one end of the spectrum are child prodigies, on the other end low-functioning children are institutionalized because they need 24 hour care. Experts don’t know what causes this mysterious neurological disorder and they say there is no cure. But with all the other issues, some are highly sensitive to the spirit world. This is what we want to know more about. This session covers three areas: 1) What autism is and what it looks like 2) The spiritual component of these children 3) How churches can set up their children’s ministries to be friendly to these children and their parents. This teaching is extremely helpful and informative especially for people who know very little about this issue.

27. The Supernatural World of this Generation (L1-2-3)

Length: 62 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

There was time when things like healing, prophecy, and dreams and visions were controversial issues with children. But as Becky points out, today they are the “warm, fuzzy, fun” side of the supernatural. Today, however, the things our children and teens are experiencing both in non-Christian as well as Christian circles has dramatically crossed the comfort zone of most people. Kids are going in and out of the spirit world at will, “playing in Jesus’ village” with the animals, to naming aborted babies that live in heaven but go to school on earth. This is the generation we call the “Joel 2:28 Generation”–the generation God has been waiting for to fulfill His plans in the last days. Yet because Christians have not been prepared to disciple and mentor this generation, the psychic world has been all to eager to do it for us.

28. Guiding Our Kids through the Spirit World (L1-2-3)

Length: 57 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Today’s children are surrounded on every side by landmines of the occult, witchcraft, and the dark side of the supernatural. Christian parents, churches, and children’s ministers often overlook the obvious and don’t realize that the tactics of the enemy uses media and entertainment as primary tools to acclimate and indoctrinate our children to accept darkness as innocent fun.

In this session, Becky exposes what is behind some of the most popular children’s books and movies through the confessions of the authors themselves through blogs and interviews, and the spiritual experiences that birthed their “creative” works. It’s very eye-opening and disturbing, and we must teach our children how to discern between God’s supernatural and that of the darkness.

29. Deliverance & Kids (L1-2-3)

Length: 45 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Many Christians do not believe that children can be demon-oppressed or demon-possessed, and therefore will not even consider this in dealing with difficult situations in children’s lives. But the scripture is very clear, and gives several examples where Jesus Himself cast demons out of little boys and little girls. While we must always be extremely careful not to jump to any conclusions without the clear direction of the Holy Spirit, and godly counsel, we must be open to the possibility that some children in our ministries may need help through deliverance. Becky offers insight as to how we might deal with these situations in our ministries.

30. Scriptural Basis for Children’s Ministry (L1-2-3)

Length: 54 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

The Bible actually has volumes of things to say about children, including highlighting great biblical leaders whose stories began in either infancy or childhood. This is a look at familiar and unfamiliar scriptures analyzing what they mean to us today in regard to how God views the children in our care, and what we can expect from them spiritually and prophetically as children.

31. Unlocking the Mystery of Children’s Dreams (L1-2-3)

Length: 58 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Has your child ever told you a puzzling dream that made you wonder if they had too much pizza before bedtime?! Dreams can be comical, adventurous, frightening, insightful, but most of all…mysterious! This workshop will help you unlock some of the mysteries of your children’s dreams, including frightful ones, from a biblical perspective.

32. Creating a Biblical Worldview in Our Children (L1-2-3)

Length: 52 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Research shows less than 4% of the American population has a biblical worldview. But what’s worse is only 9% of born-again Christians have a biblical worldview. What is a worldview and why should we care if our children have one? Biblical literacy is at an all time low in our nation, and really, in the whole world. This affects all of our decision making in every area of our lives. The lack of Bible knowledge is contributing to our children and youth being so easily swept away by the attitudes and belief systems of our culture. What can we do to make sure our children grow up with a biblical worldview? This teaching addresses all of these issues.

33. Circumcising a New Generation (L1-2-3)

Length: 65 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Joshua was God’s designated man to take the Promised Land back, but he needed help to do it. But no one over the age of twenty was allowed into the land and before he could take them in, he had to circumcise them. Basically, Joshua’s generation failed to pass their spiritual legacy on to the next generation. While Joshua saw great miracles, Joshua’s children only heard about the miracles, and Joshua’s grandchildren worshiped Baal. This is a powerfully prophetic look at the spiritual relationship between the current generations working together to bring Jesus back again.

34. Is Children’s Ministry Biblical? (L1-2-3)

Length: 51 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Somehow within the last 100 years, it has become the accepted standard to expect our churches disciple our children. Typical Sunday Schools are what we’ve been led to believe is “God’s way” of teaching our children to follow Jesus. But is that really the way it was done in the Bible? Who are really the ones who have been delegated by God to train children to walk in the ways of God? This message is very challenging, as it turns upside down we’ve come to believing about raising children for the kingdom of God. Bottom line is that the discipleship of our children is to be done in the home.

35. Revolutionary Parenting (L1-2-3)

Length: 45 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Being a good Christian does not mean a person is a good parent. There is no manual handed out when you get saved or first get married that tells you how to be a good parent. And since teaching children to walk with God is the parent’s job, and not the church, it’s important parents understand how to do it. There have been more than 75,000 different parenting books written in the past 21 years, but there’s only one that has been written by talking to the parents of children who are successfully walking with Christ as adults. In this session we begin exploring the book “Revolutionary Parenting” by researcher George Barna to see what they did to succeed in this most important job.

36. How to Raise a Spiritual Champion (L1-2-3)

Length: 59 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Hard

It’s the job of Christian parents to raise children who are spiritual champions. Spiritual champions are those who see God as the most important thing in their lives, and order their relationships, jobs, and lives around Him. The parents who produce spiritual champions embrace parenting as their primary job in life. They view the job/career they get paid to do as secondary to their parenting job. Revolutionary Parents ignore what culture says they are supposed to do and use the Bible as their standard for their parenting decisions. They integrated their faith into everything they do. Learn how to be a revolutionary parent in this session.

37. Why They Stay & Why They Stray (L1-2-3)

Length: 43 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

This session has groundbreaking research that includes how family upbringing, relationships with parents, head pastors, youth pastors, home school vs public school, issues they dealt with upon high school graduation, college choices, water baptism, and more, made a difference in whether they stayed in the church or strayed from the church as adults.

38. Babies and God (It Begins in the Womb) (L1-2-3)

39. Preschoolers & God (L1-2-3)

Length: 55 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Becky shares that from her experience of over 17 years in children’s ministry that she sees ministry to preschoolers as one of the most important. According to her these children, ages three to five, are the most spiritual sensitive of any time in the life of the child. While much of what they see and say is relegated to an “overactive imagination” Becky shows how much of the time they are actually having a spiritual experience but lack the vocabulary to share what they are feeling and seeing in an acceptable way and are therefore misunderstood.

40. A Father’s Blessing (L1-2-3)

Length: 0 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Before Jesus entered his ministry, He received his Father’s public blessing, “This is my son in whom I’m well pleased.” Today, 50% of Generation Z, the children we are ministering to today, are being raised in fatherless homes. That’s the largest percentage in history. It is from our mother’s we receive unconditional love, our character, […]

41. All Eyes on Gen Z (L1-2-3)

Length: 0 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Hard

The world’s attention has been on the Millennial Generation for years. But they are all grownup, and the children and teens we are now ministering to are an entirely new generation with their own characteristics and personality called Generation Z. They are not a miniature version of the Millennials. Generation Z are the children and […]

42. Gender Identity Issues in Children (L1-2-3)

Length: 75 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Nobody wants to talk about it. Bringing up the subject of sexual issues of any kind in children is very uncomfortable. But we can no longer ignore the fact that same sex attractions and, ultimately, a lifestyle of homosexuality, is not a teen or adult issue. The roots begin in childhood, and sometimes infancy. It can be reversed if parents, teachers, and ministers know the signs and know what to do.

43. Single Parent Discipleship (L1-2-3)

Length: 36 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Almost everyone is familiar with dire statistics that say the children raised in single parent homes face challenges. They become victims in so many ways. But single mother of four, Torry Norris, has refused to let her children be victims of anything. Despite all the odds, and going against the advice of Christian friends and leaders, Torry has home schooled her four children, and instilled a deep love for the Lord in them.

She talks about the challenges she’s faced over the fast five years, while sharing about the creative, anointed methods she has used in the home to teach her children to heard God’s voice, follow His leading, spontaneously pray for the sick, and so much more. This is an amazing encouragement to every single parent that, yes, you can successfully disciple your children to walk hard after God.

44. A Holy & Righteous Generation (L1-2-3)

Length: 42 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

This generation has been more assaulted with immorality of all kinds on every front than any other generation in American history. We have credible statistics that shows there is virtually no difference in their lifestyles morally of this generation of Christian teens and youth than their non-Christian counterparts. The Bible exhorts us all, no matter what our ages, to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

46. Speaking the Language of the Spirit in our Homes (L1-2-3)

Length: 39 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

Based on an original teaching by KIMI PowerClubs Ambassador-at-Large, Pamela Ayres, Becky presents a unique scriptural look at how each generation had a destiny to fulfill and how they were dependent on the generation before them to prepare them for it. This generation has a great prophetic destiny before it as well, but those of us who minister to them play a crucial role in preparing them for what they are to do.

PowerClubs: What They Are & How to Start One – SSCM Bonus Session

Length: 62 minutesAuthor: Becky FischerComplexity: Standard

PowerClubs are children’s ministries, that in some cases, are churches of little children all over the world, applicable to every culture and people group. PowerClubs are unique among children’s ministries because of the three core values they utilize to disciple children. They are specifically designed to take children into the presence of God and equip them for the work of the ministry. They are one of the only children’s ministries with a doctrinal emphasis for spirit-filled churches and leaders. This sessions teaches you what makes them unique and how to start one in your church, town, or community.
